Loans for Every Reason...
We provide interest-free loans to Jewish individuals and families in Northern
California for emergencies, personal financial challenges, tuition and
education-related costs, first-time home purchases, debt consolidation, starting
a new small business, adopting a child, and special medical needs. We also
make loans to Jewish organizations and synagogues.
Today more than 1,000 members of our community have loans from our agency
totaling about $4.2 million.
Loan Recipients Make Good on Their
Promise...
Borrowers agree to a specified repayment plan, ranging from two to five years.
Each loan is secured by collateral or by cosigners who vouch for the recipient
and back the loan. We are proud to have over a ninety-nine percent repayment
rate.
A volunteer board of directors establishes policy and a small staff of six
maintain the operations of the agency. In addition, volunteers serve on
committees or offer administrative support.
Your Financial Support is Welcome...
Hebrew Free Loan does considerable outreach and fundraising each year including
direct mail, in-person contact, advertising, special events and membership
campaigns.
We are a non-profit agency funded primarily by tax-deductible donations from
individuals in the community. There are many ways to support our important
service to people in need - through memberships, naming Hebrew Free Loan
in one's estate, tribute donations, major gifts, endowment, named funds,
planned giving, and gifts of real estate and securities.
