Loan Officer & Program Manager
Shari Tishman has spent her career exploring how to harness the power of the modern world to help as many people as possible. Shari joined the staff of Hebrew Free Loan in 2023 after spending 10 years on the Board of Directors; serving on the Executive Committee and the Pollak Community Loan Program Advisory Committee and chairing the Marketing Committee and the New Initiatives Committee.
In her role as Loan Officer & Program Manager, she guides applicants through the loan process and manages the Pollak Community Loan Program, which provides interest-free loans for low-income, first-generation, undocumented, and refugee students who are referred by a partner agency.
Prior to joining Hebrew Free Loan, Shari built and led marketing and communications programs at companies in the nonprofit and tech sectors, some of which include VolunteerMatch, Nitro Software, RaiseMe, and GreatNonprofits. She has Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Biological Sciences from Stanford University and earned her MBA and MS in Strategic Management from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Shari lives with her husband, her two young children, and her dog in Novato, CA. When she finds free time, she spends it reading, exercising, rooting for Boston sports, and drinking wine.
