Milla Lvovich is the managing partner of Lvovich & Szucsko, P.C. She went into law to follow in the footsteps of her grandmother, an attorney in Leningrad, USSR, during the 1940s, 50s and 60s — truly a woman ahead of her time. Although Milla’s grandmother died before the family emigrated to the US when Milla was 12, she was the inspiration behind Milla’s career choice.
Lvovich & Szucsko unites the complementary backgrounds of Milla and her partner, Terry Szucsko, to provide legal services to individuals and businesses in the Bay Area and beyond. Milla focuses on civil litigation — resolving business, real estate, intellectual property, and trust/estate disputes — while Terry specializes in family law and domestic violence.
Together they offer clients the skills to navigate complex situations where family disputes and business issues often overlap, such as divorcing spouses who are also splitting up a jointly-owned business.
The firm was founded in 2006 and has grown significantly since then, doubling in size in the last year alone. It has maintained its commitment to providing personal attention, at a reasonable cost, to each client. With several fluent Russian-speaking staff members, Lvovich & Szucsko also offers the unique ability to represent local Russian-speaking clients, as well as businesses and individuals based in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
Milla’s involvement in Hebrew Free Loan began when she needed a student loan to help cover her law school expenses at Santa Clara University School of Law. The interest-free loans she received from the agency helped her graduate from law school with minimal debt.
Years after paying off the student loans, Milla reconnected with Hebrew Free Loan by joining a committee in 2009. She went on to join the Board of Directors, and she continues her involvement as a board and committee member, as well as a member of the Business Circle and Full Circle Club. “I fell in love with the organization because everyone involved is incredibly warm and caring, and it just rubs off on you,” Milla says.
Terry became acquainted with Hebrew Free Loan through Milla. “It’s amazing what the organization accomplishes,” he says, “and the 99.75% repayment rate is unheard of!” The two are proud of Lvovich & Szucsko’s membership in the Business Circle, which they joined to help others in the community overcome challenges and pursue their dreams. They look forward to a long and meaningful association with Hebrew Free Loan.
